The Rec Committee Put in Work

The Parkside Rec Committee headed by Committee Co-Chairs, Councilmember Shirley Purcival and Mayor Kim Roman, has been incredibly busy the last couple of months. On September 16, 2023, they held the annual Parkside Community Day on the school grounds of Parkside Elementary. The day was sunny and bright and the community came out in droves to celebrate with their neighbors, eat some delicious food and view amazing vendors.

The intrepid Rec Committee followed up that triumph with a massive Trunk or Treat on October 28, 2023, co-hosted by Parkside Fire Department 45, again on the school grounds next door to the borough building.

Continuing that momentum, the much awaited for Movie Night finally happened on November 11, 2023 and “Honey, I Shrunk The Kids” played out for eager young viewers in the Parkside Elementary Multi-purpose room (because weather be damned).

Finishing up the month of November, the Rec Committee held an Art Fair at the Parkside Fire Department where residents showed their creative spirits.

Now, as winter approaches, it's time for our Holiday Festivities with the holiday party which took place on December 2, 2023 at the Parkside Fire Department where residents enjoyed delicious food and community comradery.

Thanks, Rec volunteers for another amazing year!
