Junior Council Members:
Participate in Monthly Council Meetings
Work with borough council to address needs in our borough
Develop projects based on interest and talents
Parkside Borough Council is seeking two high school students to serve as junior council members. The Junior Council Program provides youth in our borough with an opportunity to engage in borough government and develop leadership skills. It also allows borough officials to serve as mentors to students who will be future leaders in their communities. Junior council members will use their interests and talents to support the operation of council business and address needs that they see within the borough. Newly appointed junior council members will serve either a one- or two-year term, beginning in September 2022. Junior council members are required to attend all monthly council meetings. Any students interested in participating in this program should complete a brief application, which will be forthcoming. All applicants must be residents of Parkside Borough and must be high school students as of fall 2022.
