Something you may not know about Parkside: Parkside Borough has a seven
acre wooded lot, simply named "The Wood Lot." It was deeded
for education and conservation. Over the years it has undergone many renovations and restoration projects. The Wood Lot has benefited
from PECO Energy
Green Region Grants
and lasting support from Delaware County.
Community involvement has been a help as well, with even a few Boy Scout service projects
over the years.
The Wood Lot is handicapped accessible and boasts a winding path sure to get your heart pumping.
Your visit can begin at the bottom of Burden Road and easily
take you to the banks of the Chester
Creek. Please remember that many families use this area for recreation
and to curb your dog. The efforts of the Borough are continuous on the cleanup of this area. The Chester Ridley Crum Streams Cleanup Day volunteers cleaned
up over 600,000 pounds of debris in the 18 years that they
have been removing debris from streams. |
